My Story

Abinoor Kaur lives with her parents, elder sister and grandfather in Fatehgarh Sahib. Her father is a carpenter. He goes to work for living with a lumber contractor and earns $6.36 CAD per day. He works very hard although he is missing two fingers on his right hand. Abinoor's mother sews clothes at home and she earns $18.18 CAD per month. Her mother has done her Bachelor of Arts, but unfortunately cannot find a job in her field. Abinoor’s grandfather is of old age and is on bed rest. The family owns a house with two rooms, a kitchen and washroom. The family does not have a water filter and they receive wheat from the government. The family is working to repay a debt of $545.45 CAD. Abinoor Kaur enjoys going to the park and her favorite person is her teacher.
