Low Income
Gurleen is attending middle school. She aspires to be a teacher and looks up to her teacher as her role model. Her father works at a furniture shop earning $200 a month. Gurleen's mother stays home to look after all three siblings. They all walk to school and love hanging out with each other. All five members live in a single room with a shared bathroom and kitchen with their uncle's family. Gurleen is excited to be able to attend a better school with SAF's scholarship.
