My Story

Sukhjiwan’s family has been through many tough times. Her father, who struggled with alcoholism, caused her mother to move back to her parents’ house with Sukhjiwan three years ago. Tragically, her father passed away from a heart attack in July 2023. Sukhjiwan’s mother works in a medicine factory, earning $110 a month, while her maternal grandmother supports the family by working as a maid. The family is also paying off an $810 loan left by her late maternal grandfather. Despite it all, Sukhjiwan loves playing with her doll, enjoys eating kiwi and apples, and her favorite color is pink.
