Meet Mankirat and his family. In November 2022, a gas leak caused a fire that left Mankirat’s father with burns over 55% of his body and tragically took his grandmother’s life. After six months of treatment, his father lost the use of his right hand and left eye. Despite the need for further care, financial struggles stopped further care. Now, Mankirat’s 65-year-old grandfather drives an e-rickshaw, earning just $132 per month to support them. Mankirat loves Maggi, chapati, cycling, and dreams of visiting Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. His favorite color is yellow, and he deeply admires his father.
