My Story

Heavenpreet's life changed after her father, a farmer, passed away in June 2024 from a heart attack, leaving her mother to care for her and her elder brother. The family owns 1 acre of land, now leased for $840 annually. After her father’s death, the family was cheated by her uncle during the house division, receiving only an old room, worn-out kitchen, and bathroom. They also carry a $1175 loan from the cooperative bank. The maternal grandparents help with groceries and other expenses. Despite these hardships, she enjoys apples and color pink, playing, and cherishing memories of her father, her favorite person.
