Jashandeep lives with his parents, elder sister, and widowed grandmother in a small home with a roof made of mud and wooden planks. His father works hard as a truck driver, earning just $240 a month to support their family of five, while his mother cares for the household. Jashandeep’s favorite meal is rice, and when he’s not studying, he loves playing cricket with friends. He looks up to his father, who works tirelessly to provide for them.
