My Story

Lovepreet Kaur lives in Mansa, Punjab with her grandparents. Her grandfather works as a laborer and has had to endure watching his eldest daughter go through an emotional roller coaster. She got married many years ago, and her husband passed away after the roof fell on him while he was visiting his family. After her first husband passed away 6 years ago, Lovepreet’s grandfather brought his daughter back home, as she had a baby daughter who was one month old at the time, and this daughter was Lovepreet. He has since gotten his own daughter remarried again (3 years ago), and cares for Lovepreet on his own with his wife. Both he and his wife make ends meet by doing labor jobs where they make about $6 CAD per day if they are able to find work. They have a son who lives separately and does not help them financially in any way.
