Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad:- Miryalguda This is Sikligar Sikh community where SAF has been working since Summer 2017.
Sandya Kaur lives with her family in a small town in Andhra Pradesh. Her home is built of bricks, and there is no insulation; it is all raw, even with mud floors. The beds her family sleeps on do not have any mattresses, and so they are like a hard table, not a soft bed. Sandya comes from a family of Sikligar Sikhs. The Sikligars are a neglected community, who as a whole have a poor standard of living through no fault of their own. The government provided the people in this area with very small parcels of land to live on for each family, and also with a small amount of money. Although these challenges exist, Sandya loves skipping rope, the subject English, and aspires to become a doctor one day. Your support can give this child hope for a better tomorrow and make her dreams take flight.
