Village: Pachori - SAF has adopted this entire village for 10 years starting January 2018. We educate over 70 children from this community.
Deepak Singh is 10 years old and in 3rd grade. He lives in Madhya Pradesh with his siblings, mother, and Nanaji. Deepak’s father is an alcoholic and his mother has come to the sanctuary of her father to provide a better life for her children. Deepak has 2 other siblings and his Nanaji supports them by farming wheat. He comes from a family of Sikligar Sikhs. The Sikligars have a rich history of providing handmade weaponry in Guru Gobind Singh Jee’s time for the warriors of the time. The region the Sikligar Sikhs of this village live in is not like your typical village in India. The homes are scattered, some of them almost 2-3km apart from one another, which makes it hard for many families to receive help when needed. This village is situated in the hills of a mountain, and therefore they have to also deal with dangers of wildlife.
Unfortunately today the Sikligar Sikhs are a neglected community, who as a whole have a poor standard of living through no fault of their own. Your monthly contribution will cover Deepak Singh’s tuition fees, school supplies, textbook costs, and any medical issues for the child and her immediate family. They will begin attending a private school with a much higher quality education. If you sponsor Deepak Singh today, you will be supporting SAF International’s efforts to address some of the root causes of poor education and poverty in India.
