My Story

Gurnoor’s life changed when his father, a laborer, passed away from a heart attack in December 2021. His mother now works as a maid, earning $80 a month, and receives a $70 widower pension to support Gurnoor and his two elder sisters. They live in a 2-bedroom house built by his father, but it lacks a kitchen and washroom. Despite their struggles, the family finds strength in their faith, regularly doing path and kirtan. Gurnoor loves Maggi, studying, and the color blue. He adores his mother and dreams of visiting Canada for a vacation.
