My Story

Manavdeep Singh lives in Amritsar with his grandparents. His favourite place to go is school and when he grows up, he wants to be a lawyer. Manavdeep’s parents separated in 2012, and his mother went back to her parents’ house, but she passed away in 2014. Manavdeep’s father also died in 2015 from an appendicitis, leaving Manavdeep and his sister in the care of their grandparents. Even in his old age, Manavdeep’s grandfather has to work in order to provide for his grandchildren. He works as a school bus driver, but only makes 3,000 rupees each month – that’s only $60 CAD. Manavdeep’s grandparents’ are worried that they will not be able to give their grandchildren the opportunities every child deserves. Living without your parents is hard enough, but growing up in poverty without their protection and support leaves children in a very vulnerable position.

If you sponsor Manavdeep today, SAF INTERNATIONAL can make sure his grandparents’ financial difficulties do not affect this young boy’s future. He will be able to continue his schooling and have access to all the opportunities every child deserves. Your monthly contribution will cover his tuition fees, school supplies, textbook costs, and medical expenses for the child or any member of his immediate family. Educating young children is an important step in ending poverty around the world. Sponsor Manavdeeptoday and join SAF INTERNATIONAL in the fight against poverty.
