Punjab We mostly deal with single mothers, farmer suicide families and other under privileged children with various familial situations.
Harmandeep Singh is a 5 year old young boy who lives in Amritsar with his family. His father is uneducated and works as a daily wager, earning roughly $140 CAD per month to support his family. Unfortunately, Harmandeep’s father suffered from a heart attack 6 month ago, resulting in him having to take medication. The costs for that medication cut into what he is able to provide for his family. Harmandeep’s mother has tried to bridge the gap in income by working as a cook in three different households, earning about $30 CAD per month. Harmandeep and his family’s living conditions are very dire. They all live in one room, no kitchen, with a bathroom shared amongst another family. Harmandeep Singh has dreams of becoming a professional sports player when he grows up.
