Granthi/Gurdwara Worker

My Story

Sukhdeep Kaur is 9 years old and currently studying in 2nd grade.  Her favourite colour is pink and her favourite food to eat is noodles, or as they like to call it, “maggi”.  Sukhdeep’s father is a Granthi (priest) at their local Gurdwara Sahib which is a 5km distance from their home.  The Gurdwara Sahib provides wheat for his family as well as pays him $20 CAD per month.  When he is able to, he performs Akhand Paath Sahibs and can make up to $140 CAD in a good month if he manages to secure bookings. Sukhdeep Kaur looks up to her father as her role model, and she dreams of becoming a teacher some day.

It takes ONE person (like you!) to make a huge difference in Sukhdeep Kaur’s life. By sponsoring her, you are securing Sukhdeep’s future. You are supporting not only her education, but also any medical expenses of her immediate family. You are giving Sukhdeep a chance to break the cycle of poverty. Your $35 monthly gift is invested in her future and the lives of children like her in India.
