Punjab We mostly deal with single mothers, farmer suicide families and other under privileged children with various familial situations.
Parinita is currently 8 years old and lives with her family in Kapurthala. Her father is a Granthi (priest) at a local Gurdwara Sahib. The gurdwara has given the family 2 rooms and a kitchen, along with free wheat (atta). There is no fixed income for this family as Parinita’s father gets paid in a unique way where the families in the village pool together money in order to help pay him, on average he makes $120 CAD, but this number varies as it depends on what each family has put into the pool for the month. Parinita’s parents were sending their children to a private school but had to take them out because they could not afford to send them there anymore and were forced to put them into a government school. As many of you know, the government schools in India are not known for the quality of education. If you choose to sponsor Parinita today, you will not only help her family support her education, but you will give them hope for a brighter future.
