Hyderabad:- Miryalguda This is Sikligar Sikh community where SAF has been working since Summer 2017.
Simran Kaur is 10 years old and lives with her family in Nalgonda, in the state of Telangana. They live in a small 2 bedroom house with a makeshift kitchen and bathroom. Simran Kaur loves the color pink and likes to visit Hyderabad. Her role models are her parents, and she would love to become a teacher when she grows up. Simran Kaur comes from a family of Sikligar Sikhs. Her father works in a rice mill only 15 days per month, and brings in a monthly income of $120 CAD. The combined school fees for the children add up to $40 CAD per month, which leaves very little for food and other necessary expenses.
The Sikligars are a neglected community, who as a whole have a poor standard of living through no fault of their own. If the future of a community is at stake, then it is very important to connect the new generation with the education of the present. It is for these reasons that this special project for Sikligar Sikhs has been developed by the SAF International. Your monthly contribution will cover Simran Kaur’s tuition fees, school supplies, textbook costs, and any medical issues for the child and her immediate family.
